This Fashion Incubator programme has been designed and will be delivered by Bold in Africa, via The Bold Woman Fund.
​
The programme is designed to scale businesses, sharpen business skills, strengthen networks in Uganda and the UK, and offer action-based learning opportunities for early-stage fashion enterprises. It has been carefully tailored for early-stage fashion businesses that will support micro, small, and medium fashion sector enterprises.
​
The incubator will focus on scaling the business and creative skills of female Ugandan fashion industry players with the ambition of demonstrating that the sector is a professional choice for young people and a valuable contributor to the creative economy.
​
Bold in Africa calls all young female (18 to 35 years) creatives in the fashion industry to apply to the Creative DNA 2.0 programme.
​
This programme is open to 10 women fashion entrepreneurs. It is free of a charge to successful applicants and will be implemented over a period of 6 months, and will include:

Weekly training sessions led by industry experts

Capacity Building for Fashion Practitioners

Market access opportunities

Convening of Creative DNA Alumni Network

Policy discussions

The 8 week training program focuses on the business side of the fashion industry. Classes will run once a week on Saturdays from Saturday 27th July to Saturday 14th September 2024, from 9am to 12 noon at the Bold in Africa studio.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Ugandan-based women in production in the fashion industry that meet the following requirements:
-
Applicants must be between the age of 18 and 35.
-
With at least a year of practical experience in fashion, production and retailing (taking products to market).
-
Producing quality products that fit within the Bold in Africa aesthetic.
-
Running a businesses that is facing challenges in moving to the next level, especially on the retail front.
-
Have an existing portfolio showcasing their work, including pictures.

Samples should be available on request.

Applicants do not need to be producing under a registered business.
-
Applicants should be available to attend a 3-5 hour in-person session every Saturday, with the exception of public holidays, for the duration of the training program.
